Praying. Waiting. Hoping.

For as many years as this little business of mine has been growing, we have also been waiting equally as long for God to bless us with our own children. We’ve prayed wholeheartedly for little footsteps and giggles to fill our home and are brimming with anticipation for the next chapter of our lives.

In the waiting we have been blessed immeasurably more than we could have ever asked or imagined just as Ephesians 3:20 has spoken. With the addition of our fur babies (Rosie and Maggie), thoughtful friends and family, and each of you, the waiting season has become a much easier place to not just endure, but thrive in. God has carried us in his hand tenderly through the tough moments and provided exactly what we’ve needed for each day.

Not long ago I heard a story about a set of parents who lost their only child in a horrific multi person accident. When he heard the news, the father was distraught. The mother, however, responded to the situation with profound words. She said that she would rejoice with the parent’s whose sons survived and that God’s grace would be enough for the two of them.

How beautifully accurate and sobering those words are. I’ve seen God’s grace and love present in each moment through my camera. From swaddling/snuggling newborns, to rejoicing in a new marriage and everything in between I can honestly say it is a privilege to witness and celebrate the beauty of life’s moments. Photography has filled my cup in a way I didn’t know I needed through this season and for that I am thankful.

I write this not knowing what our story is going to be. Whether God will bless us with our own curly red-haired (as I like to imagine) kiddos or He has another plan for us only time will tell. For now and always, we will remain in His goodness and mercy that will surely follow us all the days of our lives (Psalm 23:6).
